Mallorca has a thriving ex-pat social scene. Whether your thing is eating, drinking, dancing, singing, talking or doing sports, you’ll find someone to do it with.
AGE CONCERN MALLORCA
Despite the name, this is a bunch of fun and friendly volunteers who work to improve the lives of elderly people on the island. They hold fundraising events such as fashion shows and each year they collect food for a Christmas Hamper Appeal. They are always happy to hear from new volunteers.
ALUMNI
The Alumni and Friends of American Universities Association of Mallorca was established to bring together former graduates of American universities who live on the island. One of the group’s objectives is to get to know the cultural assets of Mallorca so they arrange visits to museums and historic places.

CALVIA LIONS
A part of the international group of Lions Clubs, the Calvià club organises fundraising activities in the region to help people in need in very practical ways.
CALVIA QUIZ LEAGUE
Each Sunday night ten bars in the Calvià region do battle in the Calvia Quiz League. Acorn, Crown, Watering Hole, Applebees and Snoopy's (all Santa Ponsa). Capones, Olivares and Zanzi's (all Son Caliu), Sammy's (Magalluf) and Rossitas (Calvia).The league is mostly for residents as it takes place during the winter from November to March but everyone is welcome to join in.
CIUDADANOS EUROPEOS BALEARES
This association is dedicated to informing foreign residents about their rights and encouraging integration. It has an office in Palma which acts as an information ‘drop-in’ centre for residents who are looking for answers to issues. It also organises an annual sponsored walk for charity and several social events.

ESRA – English Speaking Resident’s Association.
This ex-pat association has groups all over Mallorca and they organise social and welfare activities for the benefit of members. Established in 1983 it now has approximately 1300 members in its six districts across the island. Activities include: lunches, dinners, coffee mornings, talks, walks and annual inter-district events are held such as a bowling competition.

GEORGIE INSULL SINGERS
A choir since 2000, this group performs at weddings, events and gatherings on the island. They always welcome new members, particularly male voices. They perform at least two major concerts annually at the Anglican Church in Palma, a midsummer concert and a Christmas Carol concert.
LACE – Ladies Alliance of Communication and Enterprise.
With around 100 members this lunch club meet on the first Friday of each month to share ideas and help each other in business. They have speakers to give presentations and members help each other with commercial enterprises. Annual membership is just 36 euros with lunch costing around 20 euros a time.
MALLORCA CRICKET CLUB
The only cricket team to play on a wicket with no grass! The MCC are a dedicated bunch who play visiting teams from the UK and local ‘all star’ teams plus they enjoy a healthy social scene. The current ground is just outside Magaluf but the team is about to move to new facilities in the next year or so. The club also organises the annual Bonfire Night party which is attended by over 3,000 ex-pats.
MIXED INTERNATIONAL BOWLING LEAGUE
A fun group of people who meet each Wednesday evening at the Ocimax in Palma at 8pm for an 8.30pm start. The competition is fierce but fun at the same time.
ROTARY CLUB OF CALVIA
This is the only English-speaking Rotary Club in Spain but the members are all different nationalities. They meet each Monday lunchtime at 2pm. The club organises many activities to raise money for good causes on the island.

ROYAL BRITISH LEGION
The Royal British Legion is the UK’s leading charity providing financial, social and emotional support to millions who have served or are currently serving in the Armed Forces, and their dependants. Famous for its annual ‘Poppy Appeal’ the Mallorca British Legion is active in fundraising efforts on the island.
SALVATION ARMY
Part of the international church movement which provides social welfare for underprivileged people on the island. It has a centre in San Agustin and Son Calui and fundraising shops in Son Calui and Port Pollensa. It organises lunches for elderly and supports the work of the emergency services by providing refreshments and counselling in the case of emergencies.
LAWN BOWLS MALLORCA
TALBERT LAWN BOWLS is a family concern opened in 1993 outside Magaluf for residents and visitors to enjoy.

TOASTMASTERS
An international organisation which helps people to develop public speaking skills - whether you need to do presentations at work, or have to deliver a best-man’s speech. There are two main groups that meet on Mallorca. There is a lunchtime club, Bendinat International Toastmasters (or BITS) who meet on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month a the Anglican Church Hall in Palma, or the evening meeting is at the Santa Ponsa Country Club each Wednesday evening.
